Hi, first time mom here ��
What all do I ACTUALLY need to bring to the hospital for me? I’ve got babies stuff packed and ready to go but I’m just dreading trying to get together things for myself. ����

I brought my own hair stuff, razor, hair brush, body wash, face wash, toothbrush/paste, makeup because both times I have birth they had no shower stuff. I also brought a couple of high waisted comfortable underwear, robes, nursing bra and nursing pajamas and a comfortable dress that I went home in. I also brought my iPad that had some shoes and movies downloaded. You can for sure bring your own pillow if your particular about your sleeping situation. You’ll really be in a hospital gown and there hospital underwear for most of your stay so you don’t need a ton of clothes. But really anything that will make you feel more at home!

Yes to everything she said before me! Also bring a blanket. Hospitals are always cold so socks too. I had a c section with my first but if you have a vagin*l birth then get adult diapers!!

I pack pretty minimally. A toiletry kit and a going home outfit for me. In the hospital, I prefer to wear hospital gowns so I’m not bringing extra laundry home to do.

I pack myself and baby in a small weekender bag. I normally pack:
-basic toiletry bag (toothbrush, toothpaste, face wash, basic makeup, hair tie, headband)
-hair straightener
-robe
-nursing friendly house dress
-leggings and loose top
-nursing bralette
-phone charger
-headphones

milkmaid goods is my favorite because they have a little hole to loop the tie through that helps the robe stay closed. Not a robe for warmth, it’s like the stretchy swaddle blanket material. Years after buying my first I still wear it daily while getting ready in the mornings!

Echoing what others said with some additions:
- your glasses and contact case if you wear contacts
- eye mask for blocking light during the night when nurses come to check vitals
- portable sound machine for baby (I kept having to pull up a white noise video on YouTube to keep him calm during diaper changes)

I mostly used the things they provided at the hospital. Here's my list:
- Mommy's going home outfit
- Extra long phone charger
- ChapStick (it's pretty dry in the hospital)
- Hairbrush
- Robe for when visitors arrive
- Medicine I take daily
The first time I also packed snacks but I never had an opportunity to eat them 🤷♀️
It definitely depends on how cute you want to look at the hospital. For me, looking cute is barely a priority outside the hospital 😂 But I've noticed other women bring hair styling supplies and make up and postpartum outfits.

My sister in law got me one from Caden Lane that I brought. It's very lightweight. I used it to feel less exposed when family was visiting. At home I have a plush bathrobe; it wasn't that kind of a thing. It was really only for modesty, not comfort.

Honestly not that much. I spent a lot of my time with my boobs out anyways to breastfeed. I plan on bringing my toiletries, bamboo button up pjs, matching pjs, a going home lounge outfit, 2 nursing bras, phone charger, manual pump, nursing pillow, earth mama nipple balm, my Lila labour gown, diapers for me, Frida mom peri bottle (just easier to use), vitamins ( some hospitals give them I hear, but mine never have, only meds)

I feel like towels are totally overlooked. It’s the first thing I pack. Our hospitals towels are insanely tiny, plus it’s a nice comfort having a good towel for that first shower after labor.

What everyone else said plus a fan! a stroller fan that can wrap onto the side of the bed saved me. Labor and the post partum sweats were no joke!
